One Planet Goondie

Description

The Goondie 30D tents have flies made from 30 denier polyester, a slightly heavier and sturdier fabric than the 15 denier series. These gorgeous orange numbers are not only easier to spot than the lighter version, they have higher UV resistance, making them better suited for four-season use. The Goondie 2-30D tent is a practical, lightweight, two-person tent that doesn't sacrifice comfort for the sake of saving a few grams. It is very similar to its smaller sibling but bigger, with two external doors - necessary when two people need to access the tent and the vestibules.

This tent is suitable for four-season use, and the freestanding construction and sturdy floor (no footprint required) make it easy to put up.

The overhanging vestibules keep the inside dry even when the fly doors are open, while the mid-size YKK zips are easy to reach. All this, and its total weight is just over two kilograms - what else do you need?

The Goondie tent series has high-walled, bathtub floors made from hard-wearing, 100 denier PU-coated HT nylon – so tough that a footprint for under the tent is not needed.

The vestibules can be rolled halfway up, creating fantastic flow-through ventilation even in the wet, bringing comfort in warmer conditions. When it’s cold outside, the full nylon inner adds insulation while the durable, water-repellent finish (DWR) prevents condensation dripping inside the tent.

The Goondie is freestanding, needing a minimum of two pegs to hold the vestibules out. (Two ‘mega pegs’ are included, as well as four alloy pegs for the guy lines.) When not in use, the four storm guys tuck into handy little pockets built into the reinforcing tabs.

  • Fly: 30 denier polyester with silicone/PU coating suitable for four-season bushwalking. Fully factory seam-sealed. Guy-rope pockets built into the reinforcing. (The 30D polyester fly has greater UV resistance and is slightly heavier and more durable than the 15D nylon.)
  • Colour-coded fly tapes indicate fly direction.
  • Inner: full breathable nylon inner with DWR treatment for better insulation and protection from condensation drops.
  • Floor: 100 denier, 5000 millimetre nylon with bathtub construction. High side walls to prevent splash back. Footprint not required.
  • Vestibules: generous overhanging vestibules protect storage areas and inner tent even when fly doors are open.
  • Freestanding: minimum of two pegs required for vestibules.
  • Poles: 9.1 millimetre Air Hercules Scandium pole with floating inserts. The floating inserts allow the force to equalise over the whole arch, making for a stronger, lighter and more stable pole system.
  • Pegs: six alloy pegs, including two heavy-duty 'mega pegs'. Zips: YKK mid-size zips for dependability.
  • Guy points: four reinforced storm guys with built-in rope pockets.
  • Venting: tropical venting tabs allow the vestibules to be rolled halfway up for flow-through ventilation.
  • Stuff sack: sturdy 100-denier nylon that will last the life of the tent.
  • Dimensions of floor: 2300 x 1200 mm

Weight: total weight of 2120 grams, or 1980 grams for the inner, fly, poles and two pegs.
